Speaker Bios and Contacts:
Marc Watkins is an Assistant Director of Academic Innovation, Lecturer of Writing and Rhetoric, and serves as the Director of the AI Institute for Teachers of Writing at the University of Mississippi. He cochairs the AI working group within his department and serves as a liaison with other departments on campus, exploring generative AI’s impact on teaching and learning. He blogs about AI and education at Rhetorica.
Guy Krueger is the Assistant Chair in the Department of Writing and Rhetoric at the University of Mississippi. His research interests include all things First-Year Composition, including student efficacy, retention, and more recently, generative AI. Krueger has two pieces on AI in the FYC classroom soon to be published, and he has presented on the topic both nationally and internationally.
Amy Rutherford is an Instructor of Speech in the Department of Writing & Rhetoric at the University of Mississippi. Her research interests include political communication and, more recently, teaching AI literacy and using AI to achieve student learning outcomes, which she has presented about at both academic conferences and private workshops.
