Introduction:

So far, we've focused on AI literacy about how generative AI tools work. However, AI is such a broad topic that impacts many facets of life. There are legal, ethical, environmental, economic, and social ramifications for adopting generative AI at scale. These ethical issues form the back bone of Critical AI Literacy.

Directions:

As a group, select one ethical challenge posed by generative AI below and begin exploring it for about ten minutes. Each themed group has a series of short readings, challenges, and what-if scenarios designed to get your group involved in the discussion. As you progress through the activity, use AI to assist you in exploring your topics.
